Question:
"Aetna, one of the biggest health insurers, plans to announce this morning
that it has settled a lawsuit over billing practices with most of the
nation's dentists.
Both sides said they expected the settlement, which was signed on Friday, to
improve relations and allow dentists to spend more time with patients and
less time on paperwork."
Answer:
"The dentists are to receive $4 million, or an average of $80 to $100 for
each of the 40,000 to 50,000 who do business with Aetna,......."
Great, that will buy a nice lunch for my staff if I don't go.
In that respect it is like the typical consumer's class action suit
where the lead plantif makes in the low six figures, the attorney makes
millions and the rest get chicken feed or perhaps a discount coupon such as
a Micro$oft class action that came in the mail to me just today (you can
find it in my trash can if you are interested).
Hopefully BCBS will hear this and straighten out. They have gotten really
bad the past few months.
