Coffee Stains ?

Question:

What is the best way (besides not drinking coffee) to remove stains on teeth? Something that one can do at home besides brushing or using your own dental tools. What solution will cut this stuff? Is there a small wire brush that will work?

Any suggestions??

Answer: Is there something that causes some people's teeth to be more prone to staining than others?

Coffee and tea are well-known for their ability to stain teeth. However, porous teeth will take on more stains than normal enamel. People with dental fluorosis (hypomineralization of enamel caused by fluoride) have increased porosity of the enamel and would be more susceptible to staining agents.

One way is to switch from instant coffee to perked or drip.

Don't use cleansers! I have seen the enamel on the front of the teeth worn off completely. This makes the teeth yellower, because the exposed dentin is darker than the enamel scrubbed off.

Then the teeth are much more susceptible to stain and decay.

Get your teeth cleaned by a professional.

Or, did I misunderstand the thread???

Not to mention people with the older composites that were filled with large particulates and unglazed thereby providing a rough surface that coffee, tea, red wine and curry just LOVE !!
