Implant and bridge cost, Dental school ?

Question:

Implant and bridge cost, Dental school ?

Answer: I need to get a bridge or an implant on tooth #30 I would rather get an implant I would like to know what the going rate for for an implant is? The dentist I am currently going to said the cost would be as follows:

Extract #30 $140 Abutment $200 Implant $1300 Crown $600

Total $2,239

If I went with a bridge for tooth #30 the dentist said it would cost the following:

Denture-part 560.00 Pontic $560.00 Crown #29 $560.00 Crown #31 $560.00

Total $2,240

I live 20 miles West of Chicago Illinois. Is this the going rate for implants and bridges?

I would rather get an Implant and keep the other teeth as they are.

Any Suggestions?

Dose anybody know of a dental school in the Chicago area where I can go to save some money?

I need two implants and I can't really afford $5,000

Unfortunately it took awhile to get your teeth to the point that they need 5000 in restoration, so please give yourself a while to get them in working order. Many times treatments go in steps with some time between each step. This would allow you time to save up or afford the next step. Ask your dentist if there are any waiting periods in this treatment plan, or can he plan it around your finances. If you ignore your car, did not do oil changes or check-ups you would find yourself, eventually, in a position of either having to buy a new car or repairing the damage to the old one. Unfortunatly many people do not put that kind of priority on their dental care. Your mouth and teeth are the beginning of your entire digestive system. Treat it as such.

I'm in the Gurnee area. What your dentist is quoting you seems a little bit high in some areas, yet a little low in others. You really need to make a determination on the quality of his work, not a few dollars either way in price.

There is a couple dental schools in the Chi area. I'm sure you could get their numbers from information.

Doing a bridge would affect several other perfectly good teeth, while doing the implant is just one. Can be done, but with the costs being fairly equal I would go with the Implant.
