Call me naive for asking this question, but I'm hoping like hell
technology will improve in the future. There are SO many diabetics and
research and money coming in from organizations, surely they'll hit on
a cure sooner or later. But how long will it take !? 10 & 20, 30 years
!? Can one have realistic expectations about a possible cure !?
Or will there never be a cure, because greedy PharmaFirms still make
lotsa money with Diabetes, so they arent even intrested in finding a
cure ?!

A cute answer would to tell you to check back in
300 years. I hope the drug companies are not engaged
in a conspiracy. From what I can learn it is a tough nut to
crack. The media with their science fiction has offered
so may false hopes on so many diseases. Most
people in business make the most of any good deal.
We are a captive market and there is no easy
solution. You need to watch some C Span coverage
of the congressional hearing on medical legislation.
First have a seat where you cannot reach anything to
throw at the TV. SOMEDAY!
Been waiting 60+ years, no cure yet. A huge amount of changes , life is
easier to live . A cure may happen, I hope so, but I doubt I'll be around.
Diabetes is caused by many different things. Even if the perfect
treatment of Type 1 diabetes, the most severe, is found, it will leave a
lot of other sufferers.
There's no reason to assume the pharma-firms have such firm control.
Given the incentive for other people doing real work to "publish or
perish", it'll get published.

Yes,a cure for diabetes already exist from 300 yr.at no
cost,not being a herbal or a MLM product.But we,not
"PharmaFirms",do not want to know.Probably this year
the world will hear all details about this natural
cure,WICH ALREADY EXIST,not from me and not for money.
Well i for one will keep my fingers crossed.
and say i think the government does have some motivation
to find a cure. I wonder how much it cost to take care of
all those diabetics on public assistance. or the
impact on health insurance costs.

Right. The "natural" cure will only take 289 years and a genius to
detect, just as blood transfusions took the understanding of blood types
to be made safe, and another 50-100 years to work out the testing to
stop killing people with subtle infections and more subtle
incompatibilities.....
Compare the marketing, behavior, and fraud of the "herbal cure" pyramid
scheme sellers, then compare them to the behavior of the worst of the
worst pharmaceutical company. Guess who lies more, by a lot?
