Question:
Are any retirees having any luck getting dental work done at military dental
clinics? I've just broken a filling and am told I need a crown ($$$) I know
about the Retirees Dental plan and it still only pays 50% still $$$. I may
need some denture work also. I'm in the Northwest but could travel for free
or low cost dental work.
Answer:
Why don't you get on the phone and call the dental clinic at the closest base?
I'm sure they'd be happy to tell you whether or not they could take care of you
and, if so, what the hours and days available are and how to make an
appointment. If you don't ask, you'll never know.
Now I can't say this is true of all Base or Post Dental Clinics
but my last unit of Assignment would take Retiree's on a Space
A basis, When you are talking a Crown that is pretty extensive
they would take in only with someone else's cancellation. This
could mean for some lengthy stays waiting for Service till an opening
comes available.
