Question:
I was able to beg a local equine dentist to come do just my horse this
past weekend (he didn't want to since he prefers to do several horses and
hates to make multiple trips to the same barn later). My farrier
recommended him and I was quite pleased with his work. His name is Ed
Dillion and his number is 508-376-9827. He handles MA and some of New
Hampshire if it isn't too far away. Very nice guy, but busy this time
of year. Took about 30 minutes to do my horse, who was not a problem,
said he hadn't been done in *years* which I'd suspected. Had previously
used someone else in MA, who was good with horses but quite rude to the
customers much of the time.
Answer:
Not Wayne R., by any chance? I find him rather
entertaining, on a par with Benny Hill, kinda, but he doesn't have
that effect on everyone....
being a total jerk at our
barn because of the farrier taking away some of his business. First of
all, the quality of work was not in question, I said in my post that the
man *was* great with the horses. However, no good quality of work is
worth being swore at and insulted, period. There are plenty of polite
professionals in the world whom I would gladly give my money to instead.
It was not my fault, nor the fault of the other 4 horse owners that
waited 3 hours for Wayne to show up, that 20 people decided to take their
business elsewhere without notifying the dentist. I in fact did not know
in advance, and had I, would have assumed those persons did the
responsible thing and called Wayne in advance. I was not happy about
what my farrier did, BUT I am not his mother, I am not responsible for
his actions, and I do not know if he had a good reason for doing what he
did. I understand Wayne being mad when he arrived, BUT it was not the
remaining 5 CUSTOMER'S fault he had less business that day, so he had no
right to swear & yell at us and insult us, which he did. Nor did he
aplogize for being 3 hours late with no call. Wayne should take his
problem up with the farrier that caused the problem, and/or the horse
owners who backed out without notifying him, not paying customers that
wait for him and have their horses ready on time.
