Question:
I know this has probably been asked here before but we really need a good
recommendation for a dentist in the N. Raleigh Area. We're looking for
someone who is good with children, has a good chairside manner and one who
is not out to find any little thing wrong just so they can pay for that
house on the coast. One who is willing to spend a little time explaining
what they are doing and not rushed to get to the next patient. (Maybe we're
asking too much).
Answer:
Also, try Kyle Roth (North Raleigh Family Dentistry) in the office bldgs
behind Lowes foods at Strickland & six forks. He has a GREAT "Jungle Room"
that my 3 year old loves. (although he has only been in it a couple times.
I was just there with my son (adult) - he happens to be one of the few
(like two) dentists in Raleigh who will accept Medicaid patients, my
son's last dentist retired and his partner took over the practice, but
won't do Medicaid.
I was impressed with his 'operation' while I was waiting (in the
waiting room) for my son to finish his visit. I was surprised to
notice that the only folks in the waiting room seemed to be people who
were accompanying a patient, and not a bunch of over booked patients!
I just terminated a dentist who sold his groups practice to a
"national" Dental Group run out of Charlotte from California that
terminated his participation in my health insurance's preferred
provider network RETROACTIVELY (like 6 months before our last visit)
when I objected to their practice of arbitrarily deciding which
services would be billed as being in or out of "network" - my routine
cleaning, etc. in SEPTEMBER was "out of network" but my wife's in
NOVEMBER was "in network". What was even more frustrating and was
going to be our reason for changing dentists was the fact that we
could always anticipate waiting at least a half hour past our
appointment time before being moved into the treatment room "holding
area" for at least another 15 minutes before anyone put a finger in
our mouths! (To make things sting even more was the strictly enforced
policy they had that if you came in more than 5 after your appointed
time they refused to treat you and you had to schedule a new
appointment!)
