Healing of gums after wisdom teeth removal ?

Question:

How is the gums supposed to heal?

I have gaps after the gap teeth and where the gum starts - the gaps are only on one side (the cheek side) - on the other side the gum starts straight away where the last tooth stops - is this right - if not, cant it be fixed? i would have thought after the last normal molar the gum would start - bearing in mind thats exactly where the wisdom tooth was..

Answer:

The gum will heal--don't worry about that. It is sometimes not possible to stitch the edges of the gums together. In that case the hole fills from the bottom up. There may be a "divet" for quite some time--perhaps several months, depending on how open the socket is. It will be covered within a few weeks though.

True, we agree and please be careful when operating the riding mower over it.
