Question:
could you advise the best in price and service health and dental
insurances for me and my wife?
we would like to buy on our own,
Answer:
The whole system is a total rip off and if you get seriously ill you're
screwed, health insurance or not. The best - and this is a purely
relative use of the word - are employer-sponsored group plans. If you're
self-employed, you may be able to procure one through a professional
organization. Failing that, these are not quite as bad as many:

Depends where you live, and age as well....best ask in the US lifestyle,
Manc might have some idea's...
What you can do so save on dental if there's a dental school, use them,
normally cheap and you'll be worked on by people that are about to
qualify, and there'll be someone watching out....and there
cheap...downside only open in term times...

i dont think we are looking at maternity thing yet:)
i am 27 and my wife is 25 yrs old, and in our family she is a smoker,
but trying to quit.
we are in CA now, SF bay area.
So if there are affordable companies, plz advise.
about dental schools, do we need to pay cash to them? or we need to
contact them for that info.
Don't know, depends on the schools...one in Portland here had walk in
cases, but long waits, could pay in cash/cheque/visa...
But you should think about maternity care, bloomin' expensive if you
aren't covered and you do get pregnant...if you don't have cover and get
pregnant it'll be hard to get cover as it'll generally be considered a
pre-existing condition...
