Answer:

Why did your son decide upon this subject matter for his project? How does the internet research figure into the science project? In other words, is he, along with your help I think, attempting to prove what is reported on the internet to be true or false or???

Sure. Make it about dentistry and then count how many people fall asleep. It would really be a rather good psychology project.

But ...'s son may be called upon to present his project to the smd assembly.

After you thoroughly wash your mouth out with soap, I'll be glad to give you the most comprehensive source on mouthwashes.

Okay, your minute is up. Consumer Reports does great articles on mouth rinses . If your son, would like more info, have him log on himself. I know the professionals here enjoy helping youngsters out.

I generally find myself recommending only four types of mouthrinses:

1) Fluoride Rinses to control decay 2) Rinses containing Chlorine Dioxide to help control bad breath. Chlorine dioxide is very effective in killing sulfide compounds that cause simple bad breath. (eg. Oxyfresh or Retardant) 3) Listerine. A good over-the-counter rinse to control gingivitis. 4) Chlorhexidine. It is prescription in Canada. It is used for a whole bunch of indications but mainly I prescribe it to patients with out of control periodontitis.

I don't have much use for any of the other pretty, over-the-counter, colored mouthrinses that they sell out there.

Get your son to try searching some of the key words mentioned above. There's a ton of stuff out there in cyberland.
