Question:
Anybody played with the Henry Schein computer programs? There
are various ones: "Easy Dental", "Office"...
Are they a worthwhile investment or do you use something better?
Also, why are wisdom teeth called WISDOM teeth?
Answer:
The key words here, I guess, are "supposed to". Plenty of "wise" 18
year-olds around, but does anyone know any with "wisdom"? The name was
probably applied in a less enlightened era.
I also am interested in anybody's experience with Easy Dental
Software. We just purchased it and am about to get into using it
and would like some feedback from people who have used it to see
what we are in for. Is it a good program or not? How does it
compare to others on the market? What specifically makes it good or
bad?
They are called wisdom teeth because they erupt into the mouth at about
the age of wisdom - by the time you are about as smart as you are going to
get (18 - 21). I can attest to that. I'm in my forties, and it's all
downhill from here.
Easy Dental appears to be very good. Latest version is Win95 based, so most
options can be reached using the menu. You can download a demo at
http://www.henryschein.com.
We have been using Easy Dental Software for the last two years and are very
pleased with it. It seems to be able to do everything we have asked of it.
They have also added new features periodically that I have found useful.
Too many software programs sell you an upgrade that is in no way useful.
One additional item we purchased was Crystal Reports Writer which allows me
to get any conceivable data or data combination out of the Easy Dental
Database.
