Question:
I was recently prescribed Peridex oral rinse by my Dentist. While the
product seems to have worked well, it has stained my teeth very badly. Is
there any over the counter product, or "Home Remedy" to help remove the
stain? I have been told that there is a powder that a Dentist can use to
remove the stain. Any ideas?
Answer:
you are able to remove stain only in dental office. At least twice a year.If
you have perio problem is different.
Home care product depends on your glum situation and teeth. The some opinion
regards brush (soft, midium etc) and the way of brushing.Additional methods-
water picks, dental floss etc are very helpfull.Of course dentist should
instruct you in using.Toothpaste is ok but Its not the most important home
care product :))
I was only using the rinse on a short term basis.
I am no longer using it.
What is this tooth powder that you mention? Where can I get it? I have heard
from a friend that there is some sort of white power substance that dentists
use to remove the stain. Any ideas?
1. Use a power brush.
2. Use straight baking soda on the wet brush
3. Brush your teeth well before you rinse, going theory is that it stains the
biofilm that it kills, if you get it all off before rinsing, not as much stain.
We use a mild pumice but that is not recommended as it can and does
damage the teeth is used improperly ....... if you have an
old-fashioned drug store around ask for tooth powder.
Ok.Its the fact that proffessional cleaning couldnt be done not too often. If
you claim that Patient could clean outside part of stain and safe money -- I
agree.Of course Patients ought to know that by this way its possible to
clean only visible places. The most risky is the stain inside glum pockets
and between teeth -- dont try remove it using dental floss--its possible to
damage pocket
I wouldn't discount them all out of hand, just as them NOT to polish. They'll
complain, and go with your wishes. Polishing is not harmless.
