Sorry, my friend. I calls 'em as I sees 'em and this is my call. The
*entire* health infomatics thing is a Panic Parade and people's red
buttons are being jabbed repeatedly. After awhile it's been my
observation that the end effect is real resentment of the entire "scare
'em to the doctor" industry.
We learn pretty quick (okay, so it does take some time but quick *for
us*) that it's just a callous game and we spend quite a lot of time
around here trying to figure out whether to call the doctor or go to
emerg or not.
So I know what you're saying is true but actually there's a sort of
"cure" - maybe the person you're caring for could be pursuaded to come
on in if that's possible. I take it you've had to deal with some false
alarms. And you're perfectly right but the best way of dealing with
them is to know - for example - how to distinguish between angina and
costochondria.
