Question:
Can anybody tell me if it is safe to do tooth bleaching while pregnant?
Also, how much does it approximately cost?
Answer:
....Probably would be safe, but why in the world can't you just
wait 12 months? I'm sure with a regular cleaning (without xrays)
your teeth will be great over the next year. What in the world has
gotten you (at this particular time) all fired up to feel the need to
get "Hollywood white" teeth. Bleaching has become a sort of mania of
late. I am sure that 99.8% of people who see you do not think your
teeth are dull, grey, and in need of quick bleaching.
Wait a year and then do the bleaching with a mind at ease.
No one is going to tell you anything is safe during pregnancy. The fear of
lawsuits is too great. Realistically, I have never heard of problems with a
fetus from bleaching teeth, but if you ask your OB/GYN, you will probably be
told not to do it during pregnancy. My wife's OB/GYN told her not to use
hair spray while pregnant. So wait until after delivery.
Price?????? Where are you and what type of bleaching are you considering?
it was just a theoretical question, I can and will wait but thought I'd
ask. I'm in N.Y. and not sure what type of bleaching, I have never done
it before. All I know is, I do not want to have those trays in my mouth
for hours and weeks. So I guess Laser bleaching?
Crust has a new whitening thing that looks like you are slapping Band-aids
on your teeth. The teeth look whiter, much whiter. That is until you remove
the Band-Aids.
Years ago, I had a pregnant friend who had all of her teeh fixed
"because she did not want her kid born with bad teeth". I did not even
bother to debate the issue with her! Logic does not trump ilogic.
I came here to get a simple , proffesional answer to a simple question, that
just crossed my mind. It doesn't mean I would do it, I simply asked a
question. If I didn't phrase it right I am sorry, English is not my first
language. I am glad that you managed to twist all the words and made it to a
stupid blondie joke.
