Question:
What teeth whitening products do you use?
Answer:
Crest White Strips, the new ones that only take seven days. But even the old
ones, the 14-day kind, worked beautifully for me.
gosmile really works! (done that 2x)
and Supersmile toothpaste does too!
Trying the new Crest advanced toothpaste!
My dentist! I've had all my teeth capped! I swear it's
like having new jewelry or something; *nothing* touches
these babies; not even my nasty coffee-habit.
Crest Whitestrips Premium
Crest Vivid White toothpaste
Sonicare toothbrush
The "old" Crest Whitestrips (14 days- my teeth start getting very white after a
few days)
Crest whitening toothpaste
FWIW, my gums are sensitive to the point that whitening toothpastes make
them bleed. I used the 14 day White Strips 1x/day, and I had some initial
gum reddening/tenderness but otherwise was fine.
Yes!! I did a course of the Whitestrips (the 7 day ones), then started using
this toothpaste when I was done, and I swear I saw extra whitening with the
toothpaste, above and beyond what the Whitestrips did. I still expect to use the
Whitestrips once or twice a year for good measure, but the toothpaste is
*excellent* for maintenence between treatments.
I can tell it works because I have a crown on one of my front teeth. I got color
matched for it right after I did the Whitestrips. When they put it in, it was a
tad whiter than the rest of my teeth. But after a week of using the toothpaste,
they matched pretty closely. If using the toothpaste alone ever fails to keep
the rest of my teeth as white as the crown, then I'll know it's time to do the
Whitestrips again. (Does that makes sense? I just had a massive margarita so I
could be speaking Dodo right now for all I know.)
They whiten to about the same degree as the older 14-day strips (maybe a tad
bit whiter, but not anything noticeable to others) but at 7 days they take half
the time.
I really appreciate cutting the time in half for the same results since despite
the claims on the ads and the inserts, I really don't find it very comfortable
to wear the strips for a half-hour each. It's not any gum sensitivity problem,
it's just wearing the things for a half-hour twice a day. They claim you can
talk on the phone with them on or even whiten your teeth while at work. Yeah
right. I don't know about anyone else but when I have the equivalent of
peroxide-laced duct tape lining my teeth I get that distinct whistle like
George W. Bush trying to pronounce anthing containing an "S".
Still though, I do like the results and continue to use the strips twice a
year.
In between I use Arm & Hammer Advance White to maintain.
